Position Description

Position Title: Safety Net Works Coordinator of Auburn Gresham

Program Description: The Safety Net Works (TSNW) is an initiative comprised of state agencies
and community based organizations, formed to help alleviate violence and killing in communities in
Illinois. It combines public and community resources to help young people avoid acts of crime and
violence to which they are so vulnerable.

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Coordinator will be
responsible for the daily maintenance of the program’s goals and objectives in accordance with the
grant and coalition agreement.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:


· Ensures that program goals and objectives are being administered and implemented as stated
in work plan.
· Serves as liaison between The ARK of St. Sabina and Coalition members.
· Supervise and maintain SNW initiatives.
· Responsible for planning and implementation of violence prevention activities and events.
· Responsible for maintaining attendance data.
· Responsible for developing and facilitating youth leadership development activities.
· Coordinate meetings with Coalition members.
· Recruit youth into the program.
· Works to build relationships with local schools, churches, and state agencies.
· Identify new programs, resources and coalition members.
· Organize and facilitate community and agency meetings.
· Attend outside community meetings.
· Prepare and submit proper reporting documents.
· Assist with major fundraising efforts.
· Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Education:
· Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a youth development related fields, i.e. social
services, psychology, or related field.
· Two to three years demonstrated youth development experience.
· Experience with supervision of adults and youth.
· Strong level of computer literacy.
· Must demonstrate cultural competency, and is dedicated to working with youth and families
in the community.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Must demonstrate ability to multi-task and solve problems effectively.

Salary: Dependent upon qualifications and experience. Employee is eligible for benefits.
