Samora is a gunslinger in the Wild West, but she doesn't just carry a gun. She also carries the cross ring that designates her as an angelic agent, sent from God himself to battle over mortal souls on earth with the demons who seek to win their ages long battle.
She has two problems: her propensity for getting screwed over by conniving mortals and her love for Gideon -a fallen angel on the wrong side of the law.
This is a short story, about 25 pages or 8,000 words.

At least I have my gun this time,
I told myself, caressing the holster on my right hip.
I was sitting on the desert floor, trying in vain to eke out some shade from the rock next to me. The gun couldn't get me food, water, or shelter, but it would protect me from any wildlife that might take an interest, not to mention the human predators that could make an appearance. The chances of the latter were slim, I had to admit. I was hoping someone would show up and deliver me.
There was no telling how long I'd been out here in the middle of nowhere. I'd woken up with the headache from hell and the bump to show the reason. I cursed my gullibility. Every time a poor slob came to me with a
