Ether

Dimethyl ether is a colorless gas that produces minimal soot and CO when combusted. It can act as a clean fuel when burned in engines optimized for it. Diethyl ether is a highly volatile, flammable liquid with a characteristic odor commonly used as a solvent and once used as a general anesthetic. Tetrahydrofuran is a colorless, polar liquid used as a precursor to polymers and as a solvent. 1,4-Dioxane is a colorless liquid with a faint sweet odor classified as an ether, mainly used as a stabilizer for trichloroethane and occasionally as a solvent.

ETHER

Dimethyl ether Dimethyl ether (DME), also known as methoxymethane. The simplest ether, it is a colourless gas that is a useful precursor to other organic compounds and an aerosol propellant. When combusted, DME produces minimal soot and CO. DME can act as a clean fuel when burned in engines properly optimized for DME. CH3-O-CH3

Diethyl ether Diethyl ether, also known as ethyl ether, simply ether, or ethoxyethane. It is a colorless, highly volatile flammable liquid with a characteristic odor. It is commonly used as a solvent and was once used as a general anesthetic. Ether is sparingly soluble in water (6.9 g/100 mL)

CH3CH2-O-CH2CH3

Tetrahydrofuran Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is a colorless, water-miscible organic liquid with low viscosity at standard temperature and pressure. This heterocyclic compound has the chemical formula (CH2)4O. As one of the most polar ethers with a wide liquid range, it is a useful solvent. Its main use, however, is as a precursor to polymers. THF has an odor similar to its chemical cousin, diethyl ether, but is a much less potentanesthetic than diethyl ether.

O(CH2)4

Dioxane 1,4-Dioxane, often called dioxane because the other isomers of dioxane are rare, is a heterocyclic organic compound. It is a O(C2H4)2O colorlessliquid with a faint sweet odor similar to that of diethyl ether. It is classified as an ether. This colorless liquid is mainly used as a stabilizer for the solvent trichloroethane. It is an occasionally used solvent for a variety of practical applications as well as in the laboratory.
