CERTIFICATION OF COMPETENCE FOR PERSONNEL ENGAGED IN THE APPLICATION OF NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING IN THE WELDING SECTOR
This Appendix to PCN general requirements covers the certification of personnel applying nondestructive testing to welded fabrications. All certification issued for this sector allows a presumption of conformity with the Pressure Equipment Directive (97/23/EC). The documents referenced below are supplementary to, and amplify the provisions of PCN General Requirements for the Certification of Personnel engaged in Non-Destructive Testing, as amended from time to time. Any person requiring information concerning the content of PCN documents should address queries to the PCN Scheme Manager at the above address. APPENDIX C COVERS: Appendix C1 Appendix C2 Appendix C3 C3A C3B Appendix C4 Ultrasonic Testing Radiographic Testing Electromagnetic Testing, comprising: Eddy Current Testing Alternating Current Field Measurement Ultrasonic Time of Flight Diffraction

N.B. Radiation safety, and magnetic particle, liquid penetrant and visual testing of welds, is covered by documents contained in PCN/GEN Appendix E.

The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing is an accredited certification body offering personnel and quality management systems assessment and certification against criteria set out in international and European standards through the PCN Certification Scheme.
