A. Barnes: Pats communication skills, especially in writing, are very strong.

D. Edwards: Patricia is an excellent writer and expresses herself well orally. R. Gauthier: Patricia is an excellent writer. F. Gomez: Patricia speaks very well. Her writing is also very good. L. Hyungen: Patricia is one of the very best undergraduate writers I have encountered in recent years. Her writing is polished and well-organized, with a definite flair. Her oral communication skills are also very strong. She gave an outstanding presentation on Emily Dickinson in the senior seminar.

D. Edwards: Patricia is able to accept feedback without getting defensive. R. Gauthier: Patricia is a very hard worker and seems able to handle the stresses of attending classes, writing an honors thesis and applying to grad school while working more than twenty hours a week.

A. Barnes: I first knew Patricia when she was a freshman. She was a good student then, but she has really blossomed in the past two years as she has become more confident and experienced. Her honors thesis was excellent thoroughly researched and wellwritten. She would do well in any graduate program. D. Edwards: Patricia is the exactly the sort of person who should be in graduate school. She is smart, knowledgeable, totally captivated by American literature, and eager to share her discoveries with others. Furthermore, she has just the right temperament to be a successful grad student. She is rarely discouraged or thrown offcourse and she will stick with the program and get her degree.

Not only is she thoroughly dependable, but she also takes initiative to spot problems and suggest solutions. I recommend her without reservation. L. Hyungen: She will be an asset to your program. Her enthusiasm for literature is infectious; shes an extremely hard worker; shes well-organized; she writes beautifully; and she always accomplishes what she sets out to do.
