Xmas Tree Hat and Centerpiece Pattern

This document provides instructions for knitting an Xmas tree hat or centerpiece. The hat is knit in the shape of a pine tree from the ribbing at the bottom to the pointed star-shaped top. Various decreases are made in rows to shape the boughs. After completing the knitting, a star-shaped button is sewn to the top and holes are seamed to form pointed boughs. Decorations like bells and buttons can be added to simulate ornaments. The finished piece can be worn as a hat or used as a table centerpiece or decoration.
