COURSE DETAILS (0870 0930)
COURSE CODE : 0870 CHEMICAL CHARACTERISATION BY NDT TECHNIQUE Non Destructive Testing generally refers to flaw detection in engineering component by methods such DPT. MPT, UT, RT. In this advanced world many equipment have been developed to determine the chemical & physical characteristic of engineering materials (including nano materials) adopting non destructive technique. The course will be useful to lab managers to upgrade their knowledge base regarding availability of various types of equipment useful for determining chemical & physical characteristic without destroying the component. The topics covered under this course is details of equipment, its working principle, advantages & disadvantages of the equipment for a typical application along with practical demo. Target Group: Laboratory Technicians & Chemists with qualifications BE/Diploma, M.Sc/B.Sc with or without experience.
COURSE CODE : 0880 MANAGEMENT SYSTEM DOCUMENT & INTERNAL AUDIT AS PER ISO/IEC 17025-2005 Awareness on ISO/IEC 17025 is a must for laboratory managers for sustaining the accreditation status. The course helps the lab managers in interpreting various clauses effectively. 1. Interprutation of various clauses 2. Conducting internal audit 3. Basics of measurement uncertainty 4. Quality control activities (ILC, PT, Z-score evaluation) 5. Unambiguous reporting of test result. Target Group : Laboratory Technicians & Chemists with qualifications BE/Diploma, M.Sc/B.Sc with or without experience.
COURSE CODE : 0900 MATERIAL SELECTION & HEAT TREATMENT OF FERROUS ALLOY The first step in the manufacture of any engineering component is the material selection. The selection of materials is generally made considering the design aspects & physical properties of material. One are more of the physical properties such as hardness, strength, electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, surface finish etc., are considered for selection of material. The physical properties of material depend on the chemical ingredients and type of heat treatment carried out. The course covers the following topics : Role of an individual element in an alloy and understanding of Fe-C diagram Description of various heat treatment processes. (annealing, tempering, hardening, stress relieving etc) Selection of material for various application Target Group : Laboratory Technicians & Chemists with qualifications BE/Diploma, M.Sc/B.Sc with or without experience.
COURSE CODE : 0910 CHEMICAL, MECHANICAL & METALLOGRAPHIC TESTING Designers select the material considering the design aspects & the functional requirement. Once the material is identified and purchased it is to be tested for chemical composition and physical properties to establish its suitability for the intended application. The testing laboratory plays an important role in furnishing quality result. Quality result can be achieved through selection of appropriate test methods and possessing adequate technical knowledge by the technician/chemist. Several methods are available for conducting chemical and metallographic tests which have different accuracy and repeatability limits. The course covers the following topics : Factor which influence accuracy & repeatability. Selection of test methods Target Group: Laboratory Technicians & Chemists with qualifications BE/Diploma, M.Sc/B.Sc with or without experience.
COURSE CODE : 0930 MACHINERY OIL ANALYSIS Health of a machine can be predicted through condition monitoring technique. One of the conditional monitoring techniques adopted is evaluation of lubricating oil. Analysis of oil for various parameters reveals the status of the machinery parts through which it will be possible to enhance the life of machine. The topics covered are : Role of lubricating oil in a machine & Different maintenance strategies Different tests performed on used and fresh oil & Oil replenishment & reclamation Acceptance criteria for various test parameters such as viscosity, total acid no. moisture etc., Target Group: Laboratory Technicians & Chemists with qualifications BE/Diploma, M.Sc/B.Sc with or without experience.
