Providing resources for future entrepreneurs and urban innovators
New York, NY August, 29 2016 Esperanza Preparatory Academy will be hosting The 2016
Harlem Youth Entrepreneurs Summit (#HarlemYES), whose mission is to promote and develop
the ideas and businesses of young innovators via the following avenues; informational workshops,
communal resources, and peer networking. The summit was created in response to the current
needs of local emerging entrepreneurs who are seeking resources to assist in the cultivation of
their progressive ventures. In addition, the summit will introduce The Big 10, a program that
solicits the business ideas of participants aged 15 years and older. The best ten ideas will be
presented during the summit; along with receiving a congratulatory prize of additional business
tools and resources. This two-day (FREE) event will be held on the following dates/times: Sept
10, 2016 / 8:30-4:30pm and Sept 17, 2016/ 8:30-4:40pm. The academy is located at 240 East
109th St, Harlem, NY.
A collaborative effort. The summit is a collaborative effort; per the following community agencies;
New Light Baptist Church, which is a nonprofit ministry that is pastored by Rudolf Bobby Lewis Jr.
whose ministry is compelled by his love for God, people, and the arts, combined with a dedication
to serving the Harlem community and the world, PM-AM PRODUCTIONS which is an agency
that promotes, hosts and supports community oriented events that are designed to empower,
entertain, support and educate, via the following avenue; leading the strategic development of
public partnering with local small businesses, and major players in the entertainment and political
arena, and The Buttafly Center, which is a nonprofit organization that is currently promoting two
main initiatives; the Chrysalis Program, which provides training and development for female
entrepreneurs and social-preneurs and the Chrysalis Extension, which provides fiscal sponsorship
and capacity building for female founded start- ups and community agencies.
