Science Interactive Notebook

Purpose:
The purpose of the Interactive notebook is to help you succeed in this class. You
will use your notebook for class notes as well as other activities in class.
Materials:
Composition notebook
Pens and pencils
Colored pencils or Crayons
Highlighters
Glue sticks and scissors
What are my responsibilities?
Notebooks are to be brought to class daily. You are responsible for keeping up with
all notebook entries every day.
How will my notebook be organized?
Your notebook will be organized into a LEFT side and Right side. The LEFT side will
contain information given to you by Mrs. Strother. This is important information
that will be used on tests and quizzes. It should include a title page and the days
essential question? Nothing else should go on this side. The left side is the odd
pages. (Things on this side: Notes from presentations, movies, articles, labs, and
vocabulary)
The RIGHT side of the notebook is work created by you. This is where you will
process the new information you have been given. (Things on this side: summaries,
thinking maps, tables, graphs, word webs, pictures, foldables, etc.)
Will I receive a grade for my notebook?
YES!!!! Notebooks will be graded for completion, quality, organization, and visual
appearance. You will be given a rubric each time it is graded.

What happens if I am absent?


If you are absent, it is your responsibility to obtain notebook assignments from a
classmate or from the make-up work box.
