1) The study aimed to determine the relationship between competency, motivation, workload, and the performance of nurses at the inpatient unit of Bali Provincial Mental Hospital in 2015. 2) The study used a cross-sectional observational analytic design and collected data from 111 nurses through questionnaires and observations. 3) The results showed that competence and motivation were significantly related to nurse performance, while workload and marital status were not significantly related. Competence was the most dominant factor influencing performance.

CONNECTING COMPETENCE, MOTIVATION AND EXPENSES NURSE


WORKING WITH PERFORMANCE IN THE MENTAL HOSPITAL
Inpatient BALI PROVINCE
The performance of nurses in inpatient hospital room can be seen from the
quality of nursing care provided to patients. Quality nursing care needs to be
oriented to better patient outcomes. These conditions can be achieved when
supported by adequate human resources in quality and quantity. The performance
of nurses is influenced by several factors, such as competence, motivation and
load kerja.Tujuan this study was to determine the relationship of competency,
motivation and workload with the performance of nurses in the inpatient unit of
Bali Provincial Mental Hospital in 2015.
The study design was cross-sectional, with the kind of observational
Analytic that explains the relationship of variables in this study. Samples
numbered 111 nurses who served in the room Inpatient Mental Hospital Bali
Province using total sampling technique. Data was collected by questionnaire and
observation sheets, then conducted a test using a chi-square bivariate and
multivariate logistic regression test.
The results showed no relationship competence, motivation and marital
status with the performance of nurses. The p value for each variable is the aspect
of competence (<0,001), motivational aspects (<0.001) and aspects of marital
status (0.095). Aspects of competence is the most dominant variable affecting the
performance with value Odds Ratio (OR), the largest is 65.38.
Workload show bivariate analysis results obtained with the chi-square p
value = 0.94 stated no significant correlation between workload with the
performance of nurses in Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital Bali, but marital status
relationship with OR equal to 4, 57 but this association was not statistically
significant with p = 0.095.
Performance is the appearance of the personnel working both in quality
and quantity within an organization. To improve the performance of nurses can be
done by taking into account aspects relating to the competence and motivation.
