Plastic Bottle Solar Collector Study

The document describes the objectives, design, and testing of a flat-plate plastic bottle solar collector. The objectives were to determine suitable materials, compare piping types, and optimize the design for easy manufacturability. The design was tested by measuring temperature changes at different points, with and without a cling film reflector. Results showed increases in bottle air, wall, and pipe temperatures when using the reflector. Calculations also determined improvements in heat transfer coefficient, heat removed, and collector efficiency with the reflector.
