Effective Toilet Training Techniques

Toilet training should be led by the child and done at their own pace without force. Parents can start by getting a potty and placing it in an accessible area, then explaining its use and praising successes. Games and rewards can motivate babies, and they often learn through imitation so parents should model bathroom behavior. Ultimately, parents are responsible for toilet training to help children gain independence in controlling their needs.

1.Do you think that toilet training is necessary?

I think toilet training is necessary, because children should not feel forced to practice. It is
preferable that the child acts of his own free will regardless of the time elapsed.

2.How can babies start using the toilet?

First of all we should buy a potty, then the second step is put the potty at the best place for
the child, I mean, an accessible and convenient place, in order to create the children’s
routine. For example, after going breakfast, lunch or dinner children will learn through
imitation explaining what you do, and when he/she has achieved it, you should celebrate it.

3.Can you think about different techniques to teach babies how to use the toilet?

Making explanatory games, where using techniques and actions of going to the bathroom
children are learning. You can give her/him a reward when she/he executes the action. The
imitation could be the best technique, because children want to do the same things as you,
so let him/her see you when you’re going to the toilet, and then when they imitate you tell
them you are happy with the work.

4.Who is responsible for toilet training? Why?

The responsibility in the first place is on the parents who must exercise the training to go to
the bathroom and then in the nursery of the editors. The objective of all is for the child to
control his needs.
