Pradyumna Kumar, a poor man from India, falls in love with Charlotte Von Sledvin, a wealthy British woman visiting India. Though their social statuses are different, Charlotte reciprocates Pradyumna's love and they marry. However, Charlotte must return to London to continue her education. Pradyumna promises to follow her, undaunted by the challenges of the journey. He sells his possessions and takes a long bicycle ride to reunite with his wife, unwilling to let difficulties stop him from being with the woman he loves. The short story teaches that when one loves someone, they must fight for it no matter the circumstances.

The Bycycle Ride

I love this short story, this is a short story that tells a strong love story where pradyumna
kumar a poor man from India loves a London woman who is on vacation to India named
Charlotte Von Sledvin. Charlotte even though she is a very wealthy upper class woman who
does not look pradyumna one eye, she welcomed the love that was given by pradyuma
happily until they finally married, although in the end they had to separate again Charlotte
had to go back to London to complete his education. Pradyuma allowed and promised to

In this short story I like the attitude of Pradyuma who so loves Charlotte and willing to do
anything it can be seen from paragraph four "Many will be very disappointed, some will even
give up. But not Pradyumna. Instead of letting the difficult situation to stop him from seeing
his beloved wife again, he meets the decision to use what he has to see it again. Nothing can
stop him from reuniting with his wife, even if it means tiring bicycle riding around the world.
" Pradyumna not only traveled long distances, but she sold all of her possessions to support
her finances so she could get to London to meet Charlotte. The attitude of Pradyumna
described in the short story would make any woman's heart melt as if she felt jealous of
Charlotte.
This short story gives a lesson about "when we love someone we must fight for it no matter
how difficult the circumstances, because God will appreciate our struggle and provide the
best path when we always try. This short story is very well written because it uses an easy to
understand vocabulary.
I think this book is very suitable for teenagers 17-20 years old.
I give this short story 5 stars.
