Computer Basics for Beginners

A computer works by taking in input, processing it, and producing an output. Input such as dirty clothes and water are put into a washing machine. The washing machine then processes the input by washing the clothes. Finally, the clean clothes are output from the machine as the desired result.

How A COMPUTER WORKS

Step 1: Input

Example: Put your dirty clothes, water and soap into the washing machine. In other words, you put
something into the machine.

Step 2: Process

The washing machine washes the clothes, changing them from dirty to clean. In other words, the device
changes the input in some way.

Step 3: Output

You now have the result you wanted: the clean clothes! In other words, you take the results out.
