What is worry?

Worry is when we repetitively think about future negative events

1 that might happen, making us feel anxious and apprehensive.

Worrying is like being on the lookout for threat, and trying to

mentally prepare for that threat.

Helpful vs Unhelpful worry

Helpful worries:

Are about current, solvable problems

Motivate us to take action to change a situation

Unhelpful worries:

Are about hypothetical ("what if...) situations or unsolvable

problems (things we cannot change or influence)

Don't motivate us to take action

Leave us feeling more anxious and unable to relax
