Clinical Research Post-doctorate Fellow: Cardiovascular Disease
The Leon H. Charney Division of Cardiology of the Department of Medicine at New York
University School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity available in its Cardiovascular
Clinical Research Center (CCRC) for a post doctorate clinical research fellow for the upcoming
academic year.
The CCRC is dedicated to reducing the burdens of cardiovascular disease by testing the efficacy
of new and current treatments and preventative cardiovascular therapies, as well as testing new
therapies developed at the CCRC. The CCRC serves as a primary clinical coordinator center for
major clinical trials. In this capacity the CCRC provides daily administration of trials, handling
all issues related to the conduct of clinical trials including protocol development, eligibility and
patient populations, clinical questions, site selection and coordination, and funding procurement.
The CCRC is also engaged in numerous clinical trials as an enrolling site.
The post doctorate clinical research fellow will be involved in all aspects of research activities at
the CCRC. Duties include:
• Maintaining a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the CCRC protocols;
• Communicating with study committees, central labs and hospital departments as
required;
• Writing manuscripts and preparing presentations related to trial and database
activities;
• Organizing and participating in investigators/coordinators meetings;
• Traveling to required scientific and professional meetings;
• Participating in the development of medical students and house staff who rotate
through the center; and
• Performing literature searches for publications including papers and chapters.
