Domain, Server and Client Setup


Create Users and Groups in Windows
Open Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Local
Users and Groups
Create the following users, set password to be same as username: pipe1, pipe2,
struct1, struct2, elect1, hvac1, equipe1 (Uncheck option – “User must change
password at next logon”).
Note: If an error message regarding policy requirements for the password appears on
screen, then use a password that matches settings of the local or domain policy.
Create new groups named Pipe, Structure, S3Dusers, S3Dadmins, ProjectA.
Assign users to groups as follows:
Group Users
Pipe pipe1, pipe2
Structure struct1, struct2
S3Dusers pipe1, pipe2, struct1, struct2, equipe1, hvac1, elect1
S3Dadmins pipe1, struct1, administrator
ProjectA pipe1, struct1

Verify MSDTC Settings for the Workstation


MSDTC must be configured on the Name Generator as follows:
Go to: Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Component Services > Computers >
My Computer > Distributed Transaction Coordinator > Local DTC > right click and
select Properties > Security tab.

Assign permissions in the file system


Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the directory where the SharedContent
folder is located.

Click or tap the Options button on the View tab, and then click or tap Change
folder and search options. Click or tap the General tab. Select a Browse folders
option to display each folder in the same window or its own window.

On the View tab, ensure Use Sharing Wizard option is unchecked.

Click OK.
Right mouse click on the SharedContent folder, then select Properties.
