Environment

Nowadays environment is being constantly ruined in various ways and it doesn’t seem like a lot of
people care about it, because they barely do something to stop it. So today I’m going to talk about
environmental issues nowadays, their consequences and what can be done to stop it.
One of the biggest environment issues is air pollution. It’s a type of environmental pollution that affects
the air and is usually caused by smoke or other harmful gases, mainly oxides of carbon and nitrogen. Air
pollution has been classified as a danger to human health and Earth's many ecosystems for a long time. It
causes damage to crops, animals, forests and also contributes to the depletion of the ozone layer, which
protects the Earth from the sun's UV rays. Another big environmental problem is deforestation. Our
woodlands create new oxygen and additionally help in managing temperature and precipitation. Today,
most deforestation is happening in the tropics. It causes endangered species, because animals are losing
their homes and plants are being cut down. The last environmental problem I’m going to talk about is
climate change. The scientists had predicted the consequences of climate change years ago but no one
believed them. Sadly now everything’s occurring. Glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and lakes is breaking
up earlier, plant and animal ranges have shifted and trees are flowering sooner. The main problem of
climate change is that the average global temperature on Earth has increased by about 0.8° Celsius.
So now I am going to talk about how we can solve environmental issues. One of the ways to stop
environmental problems is conserving water and electricity. As an example turn the sink water off when
you don’t use it, turn off the lights when leaving the room. Recycling and buying recyclable things also
helps to stop these problems, because most of the materials take a long time to decompose. Also it’s
important to save trees by getting books from the library instead of buying new ones. That way fewer
trees are cut and animals don’t lose their natural habitats.
All in all I think to stop environmental problems we should try to save electricity, water and recycle. That
way we are trying to stop the environmental issues and saving for a better future.
