Introduction

This document explains the content and structure of the ECSS standards CD-ROM, which aims at
distributing all ECSS published standards (i.e. active standards and all previous versions superseded).
It also provides on the ECSS standards status.
The ECSS standards CD-ROM is organized with the following folders:

This CD-ROM does not contain other published ECSS documents such as Handbooks and Technical
Memorenda (to be obtained on request to the ECSS secretariat).
The ECSS standards are organized in three branches: Management, Engineering and Product
Assurance, and each branch is organized in disciplines (see section 1).
The identification of the different standards published and/or under production (i.e. to be updated or
to be issued for the first time) is provided in section 2.1 for the Management standards, in section 2.2
for the Product Assurance standards, in section 2.3 for the Engineering standards, and in section 2.4
for Sustainability standards. On the figures the situation for each standard is identified as follows:
 Standard published where no update is ongoing (valid issue of
standard identified)

 Published standard that will be modified due to near term

publication of other standard

 Standard published where an update is ongoing (will be

republished as per Work-plan)

 New standard under drafting (will be published as per Work-plan)

The ECSS Standards, on this CD-ROM, can be accessed directly by clicking on the individual
boxes of the overviews shown in sections 2.1 to 2.4.
Section 3.1 lists the active versions of the ECSS standards, section 3.2 lists the ECSS Standards under
development (new and updates), section 3.3 lists all previous versions.
