Unlike my typical STEM activities, I gave my students
directions to build their catapults in order to spend our time
focused on the math concepts. Feel free to adjust this to fit
your needs!

Directions for Catapults

Materials needed:
- popsicle sticks (7 per student)
- rubber bands (3 per student)
- plastic spoons (1 per student)

Directions:
1. Stack six popsicle sticks.
2. Place one popsicle stick perpendicular and between the
fifth and sixth popsicle stick (near the bottom).
3. Rubber band each side of the popsicle stick stack.
4. Place the plastic spoon aligned with the crossed popsicle
stick and over the stack of popsicle sticks.
5. Rubber band the bottom of the spoon to the one popsicle
stick.
