UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The following admission guidelines do not guarantee entry into a
program of studies as each application is assessed on a case by case basis.
General Requirements:
The general academic requirements for admission into undergraduate
degree program of UTHM are :
1. At least three (3) principal passes in the General Certificate of
Education ‘Advanced level’ (GCE) ‘A’ Level Examination (UK
Educational System) obtained in one sitting; OR
2. International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of six (6)
subjects obtained in one sitting ; OR
3. Diploma or any other Equivalent Qualification recognized by the
Government of Malaysia and approved by the Senate of the
University; OR
4. Any other qualifications that are recognized by the Senate of the
University as equivalent to the above. AND
5. TOEFL with minimum 500 marks IELTS with minimum Level 5
OR MUET band 2
PROGRAMME/CODE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have the following subjects taken
at the ‘A’ level, IB or any other equivalent
CIVIL ENGINEERING certificates examinations and obtain:
1. A minimum grade C in Mathematics, Physics and
WITH HONOURS (BFF) Chemistry; AND
2. A minimum grade C in English Language subject
Note:- The University will determine the merit and
suitability of the applicant’s academic grades
received from home country. The University reserves
the right to determine an alternative relevant subject
to Mathematics in the case where the applicant has
not taken the subject in his/her examinations. The
applicant must be physically able to do laboratory
work.
ELECTRICAL Applicants must have the following subjects taken at
ENGINEERING WITH the ‘A’ level, IB or any other equivalent certificates
examinations and obtain:
HONOURS (BEV)
1. A minimum grade C in Mathematics, AND
Physics OR Chemistry; AND
ELECTRONIC 2. A minimum pass in English Language subject
ENGINEERING WITH
HONOURS (BEJ) Note:-
The University will determine the merit and
suitability of the applicant’s academic grades
received from home country. The University reserves
the right to determine an malternative relevant
subject to Mathematics in the case where the
applicant has not taken the subject in his/her
examinations. The applicant must be physically able
to do laboratory work. In addition, applicant for the
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering must not be
colour blind.
MECHANICAL Applicants must have the following subjects
ENGINEERING WITH taken at the ‘A’ level, IB or any other
HONOURS (BDD) equivalent certificates examinations and
obtain:
1. A minimum grade C in Mathematics,
Physics and Chemistry; AND
2. A minimum pass in English Language
subject
Note:-

reserves the right to determine an alternative
relevant subject to Mathematics in the case
where the applicant has not taken the subject
in his/her examinations. The applicant must
be physically able to do laboratory work.
TECHNOLOGY Applicants must have the following subjects
MANAGEMENT WITH taken at the ‘A’ level, IB or any other
HONOURS (BPA) equivalent certificates examinations and
obtain:
