Carl Czerny explored a variety of plano techniques. Jazz Czerny develops ‘them in one of the musical idioms of the twentieth century. These studies include several azz styles: stride piano (5), blues (18a), rock (14), traditional progressive @), and interval-structured (24). ‘The technical benefits of Czeray have heen re= tained and in some cases expanded. No. 1 and No. 2 illustrate what has been changed to make the originals more enjoyable*.
