As educators, it is essential to recognize the
many threats being a user of the internet
entails and verbalize safe strategies for the
lives of our students.

KEEP YOUR IDENTITY PRIVATE

A person's identity is extremely important.


Scammers will often trick children into revealing
personal information which can be used to commit
identity theft.

WATCH OUT FOR PHISHING


Phishing uses emails to pretend to be reliable companies to trick
people into revealing personal information. This can be avoided by
not sending personal infromation through email, pay careful
attention to links sent through email, and check the site for security
before entering a username and password.

PARENTAL CONTROL
Many websites offer parental control software which can
protect children during online learning. This can help create
restrictions against websites that may be unsafe.

INSTALL ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE


Virus' are a big risk factor for every computer device
and in order to prevent this you can install softwares to
protect your computer. Some examples of antivirus
software are Norton and bitdefender.
