Job Title: Business Process Engineer
Business Unit: North American Process Improvement Team
Sr Director, North American Process Improvement and Business Support
Reports to (title only): Team
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Sr Director, NA Process Improvement and Business Support Team, this position is
primarily responsible for managing the successful completion of process and organizational improvement
projects, inclusive of reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating processes, risks and systems within the
brokerage industry, requiring skills in project and strategic management, documentation, statistical
analysis and business acumen to support process engineering activities.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to)
1. Responsible for the overseeing of all elements of process engineering within a process improvement
or creation project, including, but not limited to process creation, mapping, documentation for new
technology integration including the creation of overall process design, and role-specific SOPs
2. Manage the creation and implementation of business requirements, use cases, and test cases for
User Acceptance Testing for net new projects or enhancements to existing systems
3. Direct requirements gathering with the multi-disciplinary teams for new and existing processes and
systems for net new projects or enhancements to existing systems
4. Manage Daily Operations Call, including the creation of the strategic direction of the call, managing
topics and speakers appropriate for the audience, facilitating the meeting and producing post-call
notes, as well as following up with the audience for assigned projects and initiatives.
5. Manage and analyze risks to assigned projects, working with multi-disciplinary teams to mitigate these
risks
6. Oversee project management for assigned projects including the development of project scopes,
goals, risks, and timelines, the management of implementation and integration with the business and
communication to stakeholders and executive sponsors about project activities and upcoming risks
7. Analyze and harmonize culture, training and performance gaps for internal and external teams and
recommend and plan organization structure changes to remove any barriers for team success
8. Lead as a Subject Matter Expert on process improvement and Lean Six Sigma Root Cause and
Statistical analysis methodologies and lead projects as required
9. Lead as a Subject Matter Expert on project-based or team-based measurement strategies, including
the creation, data sourcing and validation and management of balanced score cards, including the
team’s balanced scorecard, project management specific scorecards and KPI scorecards
10. Strategic Analysis of vendors, projects, organizational structures, and processes as required.
11. Creation of ROI calculations using process engineering concepts such as Time Studies and statistical
analysis on existing and future processes as required
12. Creation of communication to the greater business on assigned projects
13. Support of contingency processes as required
14. Training other employees as required
15. Must be able to work independently in both a matrix and a directed environment for assigned projects
16. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Subject Matter Expert in process improvement methodologies, including the Lean Six Sigma Tool
Kit, CAR, FMEA and DMAIC methods - Process Design and Mapping skills, Root Cause Analysis,
Statistical Analysis
Strong analytical skills using the Industrial engineering tool kit

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Engineering – Industrial, Mechanical, Systems or similar field
MBA preferred
Professional Engineer License from an approved body preferred
IATA Certification or equivalent preferred
CCS Certification or equivalent preferred
EXPERIENCE
8-10 years of progressive process improvement and implementation experience (4 years as an
engineer in training inclusive)
3-5 years of progressive project management or people management experience
3-5 years of customs brokerage, trade consulting and/or international freight forwarding services
Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Ability to travel 10% of time, including overnight travel
