How to update IRCC on changes / corrections or new information

relevant to an ongoing application for Study or Work permit application

This is not a legal document and information may change without notice.

information, or visit International Education Centres for assistance.

In case an applicant for immigration status needs to update Immigration Refugee and
Citizenship Canada and provide any new documentation to the submitted application, it is
done through submitting an IRCC WEBFORM

STEP 1. Follow this link https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp


or simply type IRCC Webform to locate the official page to contact IRCC online

STEP 2. Proceed to the question: What would you like to do?

- Ask about my application


- Ask a general question about a program or service
- Give new information about my application
- Change my Contact information
- Add, change or remove a representative
- Report a technical problem

Answer YES to the question: have you submitted an


application for Permanent Resident / Student / Worker /
Visitor

Answer NO to the question: Is your application being processed by an office OUTSIDE Canada?

STEP 3. Go to the Webform

Fill the online form accoridng to your case and provide specific information:
name, date of birth, UCI (unique client identification found on your permit), # of application, contact
information

Step 4. Upload any supporting or new documents relevant to your update.

Step 5. Confirm your contact information and Submit the inquiry / update
