The Certificate Program in Data Science and Machine Learning is designed in collaboration
with iHUB DivyaSampark (TIH) @ IIT Roorkee to enable early and mid-career professionals
to build a robust foundation in the field of data science and machine learning. This
5-month program has been designed by the accomplished IIT faculty and will teach you
data mining, machine learning tools with Python and using data-driven insights to impact
organizational growth.

With the rapid digital transformation and the role of data science in various industries,
there is a need for data science professionals who possess strong programming, analytical
and data science skills. This certification program aims to bridge this gap by equipping you
with the necessary skills a data scientist should possess.

The program certificate will be issued collectively by iHUB DivyaSampark @ IIT Roorkee,
Department of Science & Technology (DST) and Imarticus Learning under “The National
Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical System (NM-ICPS).” This certification by
nationally-recognized bodies will enhance the learners’ profiles and help them stand out.

Program coordinated by Dr Balasubramanian Raman

– part of top ML faculty in India
This program will be coordinated by Dr Balasubramanian Raman who is renowned as a
top academician in data science and ML. Dr Balasubramanian Raman is a Professor in the
Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology
Roorkee since December 2018. He is also a Joint Faculty in the Mehta Family School of
Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at IIT Roorkee since June 2021.

Live training by IIT faculty and industry experts

The program will be delivered live through online sessions with some of the top faculty in
India. The faculty belong to IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, IIT Ropar, and other premier
institutes. The industry experts have extensive experience working on data science and
machine learning projects across multiple organizations. It will enable learners
to build a strong foundation in data science and specialize in machine learning with
Python for data-driven decision-making.

2-Day Campus Immersion

Dr R. Balasubramanian
Professor

Dr Balasubramanian Raman is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at

the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee since December 2018. He is also a Joint Faculty in the Mehta
Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at IIT Roorkee since June 2021. He is a Guest
Professor/Visiting Researcher at the Institute for Document Analysis Knowledge Science (IDAKS), Osaka
Prefecture University, Osaka, Japan from February 2020 to March 2023.

Dr Santosh Kumar Vipparthi

Dr Santosh Kumar Vipparthi is an Assistant Professor at the Mehta Family School of Data Science and
Artificial Intelligence, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT Guwahati). He received PhD and MTech
degrees with Honors in Systems Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Varanasi), BHU,
India, in 2014 and 2010 respectively, and a B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Andhra
University, Andhra Pradesh, India, in 2007. Dr Vipparthi researches in the area of Deep Learning, Computer
Vision, Image/Signal Processing, Facial Expression Recognition and Aerial Image Analysis.

Dr Subrahmanyam Murala
Associate Professor
Department of Electrical Engineering
IIT Ropar

Dr Subrahmanyam Murala received a B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Andhra
University, Andhra Pradesh, India, in 2007. Afterwards, he received his M.Tech. and PhD degrees from the
Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee, India, in 2009 and
2012 respectively. He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at the University of Windsor, Windsor, ON, Canada from July 01, 2012, to June 30, 2014.
Currently, He is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Ropar,
Rupnagar, Punjab, India. His major fields of interest are Image Retrieval, Computer Vision, Medical Image
Processing and Object Detection.
