Copia de HEXADECIMAL ADDITION 1 PDF

This document discusses hexadecimal addition. It explains that hexadecimal uses digits 0-9 and letters A-F to represent values, and that hexadecimal addition follows the same rules as decimal addition. It provides examples of adding hexadecimal numbers, carrying values when the sum is greater than 15. The conclusion states that hexadecimal allows reducing large numbers to fewer digits, simplifying computer communications.

• In this work we will talk about the hexadecimal sum, which is, how it
is represented and examples. The numbers covered by this system
and how they are used are explained, to later do exercises with their
explanation. Each example will be explained both in the presentation
and in class.

HEXADECIMAL ADDITION
You can follow this procedure:

• Add the two hexadecimal digits in decimal, inserting the

hexadecimal equivalent for numbers greater than 9.
• If the sum is equal to or less than 15, it can be expressed as a
hexadecimal digit.
• If the sum is greater than or equal to 16, 16 is subtracted and
a one (1) is carried towards the digit of the next position.

Conclusion

• In conclusion, talking this equivalence into account, we can perform the

sum in the usual way. If the sum between two numbers in a column is
greater than 15, we must add one to the left column and subtract 16
from the result of the sum between the two numbers.

• The hexadecimal system is a numerical system that serves to simplify

communications between computers, since it allows reducing the
expressions of very large numbers to a smaller series of digits.
