What is MS Paint ?

 Microsoft Paint, also known as Paint or MS Paint, is a simple program that allows
users to create basic graphic art on a computer. Paint has been included with
every version of Microsoft Windows operating system since its inception.

Title Bar
 The title bar in MS Paint is the horizontal bar located at the top of the window. It
displays the name of the program "Paint" and the name of the file that is
currently opened or being worked on.

Status Bar
 The status bar in MS Paint is a horizontal bar located at the bottom of the
window. It provides information about the current status of the image being
worked on in the MS Paint program. The status bar displays the size of the image
in pixels, the zoom percentage, and the coordinates of the cursor's position on
the canvas.

File Menu
The File menu in MS Paint provides several options to manage and manipulate image
files. Here is a brief overview of each option:
1. New: This option creates a new, blank image file that you can use to start a new
project.

2. Open: This option allows you to open an existing image file from your computer's
file system or from a network location.

3. Save: This option saves the current image file to the location from where it was
originally opened or to a new location if you choose to save it elsewhere.

4. Save As: This option allows you to save the current image file to a new location
or with a new name.

5. Print: This option allows you to print the current image file directly from MS
Paint.

6. Print Preview: This option allows you to preview how the image file will look
when printed, including its size and layout.

7. Page Setup: This option allows you to configure the settings for printing the
image file, such as margins, page orientation, and paper size.

8. Properties: This option displays information about the current image file, such as
its size, type, location, and date modified.
9. Recent Files: This option displays a list of the most recently opened image files,
making it easy to quickly access them again.

10. Exit: This option closes the MS Paint program and exits the application.

Home Tab

 Clipboard group

The Clipboard group in MS Paint contains three options: Paste, Copy, and Cut.
Here's what each option does:

o Paste: This option pastes the contents of the clipboard into the current
image file.
o Copy: This option copies the selected area of the image to the clipboard.
o Cut: This option cuts the selected area of the image and copies it to the
clipboard.

 Image group

The Image group in MS Paint contains four options: Resize, Flip/Rotate, Crop,
and Select. Here's what each option does:

1. Resize: This option allows you to resize the entire image or a selection
within the image. You can choose to resize the image based on a percentage
or specific dimensions in pixels.
2. Flip/Rotate: This option allows you to flip the image horizontally or
vertically or rotate the image by 90 degrees clockwise or counter clockwise.
3. Crop: This option allows you to remove unwanted areas of the image by
selecting the part you want to keep and discarding the rest. This can help
you focus on a specific area of the image or remove unwanted background.
4. Select: This option allows you to select a specific part of the image using
different selection tools. You can then move or manipulate the selected area
using other tools in MS Paint, such as the Cut, Copy, or Resize tools.

 Tools group

The Tools group in MS Paint contains eight options: Pencil, Eraser, Fill with
Color, Pick Color, Magnifier, Brush, Airbrush, and Text. Here's what each option
does:
1. Pencil: This option allows you to draw freehand lines on the image using
a simple pencil tool.
2. Eraser: This option allows you to erase parts of the image using a simple
eraser tool. You can adjust the size of the eraser and choose whether to
erase to transparency or to a specific background color.
3. Fill with Color: This option allows you to fill a selected area of the image
with a solid color. You can choose from a palette of colors or use the Pick
Color tool to select a custom color from the image.
4. Pick Color: This option allows you to select a color from the image and
use it as the current drawing color.
5. Magnifier: This option allows you to zoom in on a specific part of the
image to see it in more detail.
6. Brush: This option allows you to draw lines with a variety of brush
shapes and sizes.

7. Text: This option allows you to add text to the image using a simple text
tool. You can choose the font, size, and color of the text.

When you add text, you can choose to apply a background color to the
text, which can be either opaque or transparent.

 Shapes
The Shapes group provides tools for creating basic geometric shapes in MS Paint. These
options are useful for creating diagrams, flowcharts, or other types of technical
drawings.

shapes, 6 basic shapes, 6 polygon or star shapes, 4 arrows, 3 callouts shapes, 2 symbols.

1. Rectangle: This option allows you to draw a rectangle shape on the image.
2. Rounded Rectangle: This option is similar to the Rectangle tool, but allows you to
draw a rectangle shape with rounded corners.
3. Ellipse: This option allows you to draw an oval or circular shape on the image.
4. Polygon: This option allows you to draw a shape with multiple sides, such as a
triangle, pentagon, or hexagon.
5. Line: This option allows you to draw a straight line on the image. You can adjust
the length and angle of the line as well as the color and thickness of the line.

 Colors group
The Colors group provides tools for selecting and editing the colors used in MS Paint.
These options allow you to choose from a range of preset colors, customize the color
palette, and replace specific colors in the image. This can help you create images
with the exact colors you need, whether you're designing a logo or editing a
photograph

View Tab
The View Tab in MS Paint contains three groups: Zoom, Show/Hide, and Window.
Here's what each option in these groups does:
 Zoom Group:
This option allows you to choose a specific zoom level for the image, ranging
from 10% to 800%.

Zoom In: This option allows you to zoom in on the image to view it in
more detail.
 Zoom Out: This option allows you to zoom out on the image to view more
of it on the screen.
 Zoom to Fit: This option allows you to zoom the image so that it fits
entirely within the MS Paint window.
 Show/Hide Group:
 Ruler: This option shows or hides the ruler at the top and left edges of the image.
 Gridlines: This option shows or hides the gridlines on the image.

 Display Group

Thumbnail: This option allows you to toggle on or off a small preview of your image
in the upper left corner of the MS Paint window. This can be useful for keeping track
of what your entire image looks like while you are zoomed in on a specific area.
