TEMPERATURE TAKING AXILLA

Definition: measuring a body temperature through the axilla is safe and noninvasive and is the preferred
site for measuring temperature in newborns. Axillary method is inaccurate as some research said.

Purpose/s:

 To check for a fever.


 Used for temperature that us higher than normal for the body.

Equipment:

 Cotton balls with alcohol or alcohol wipes.


 Tissues/wipes
 Thermometer
 Watch with a second hand or indicator.

Rationale:

Procedure
