Signed-Magnitude Form

Signed numbers include both positive and negative integers and zero. They use sign bits to represent positive and negative values in sign-magnitude form, 1's complement, or 2's complement. Sign-magnitude form uses a 0 sign bit for positive numbers and a 1 sign bit for negative numbers. 1's complement inverts all bits of the magnitude. 2's complement adds 1 to the 1's complement value. The document provides an example of converting -8 to binary using sign-magnitude, 1's complement, and 2's complement forms.
