5G Insights for ECE Students

A guest lecture was held at SRM Institute of Science and Technology on February 18, 2019 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Mr. T. Jayanandan, founder of Teslaminds Research Foundation Chennai, spoke to approximately 120 second year students on the topic of "Relevance of Electronic circuits and transmission lines in 5G communication systems". He discussed the basics of electromagnetics, Maxwell's theory, and electromagnetic applications like antennas and radars. Mr. Jayanandan also shared recent work on 5G projects and research directions in 5G technologies. Students found the session to be informative and interactive.

GUEST LECTURE REPORT

Guest Lecture was conducted by the department of ECE, SRM IST,


Ramapuram on 18.2.2019 from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Chief guest
Mr.T.Jayanandan, Founder, Teslaminds,Research Foundation Chennai, has taken a
lecture on topic “Relevance of Electronic circuits and transmission lines in 5G
communication systems” for second year students in TRP Auditorium (Hi Tech
Hall 1). He has published number of papers in National and International Journals.
He has delivered lectures in various organizations and Universities. He also
chaired technical session in National and International Conferences. Total of
around 120 students and staff participated in this programme.
The speaker explains the Basics of Electromagnetics, Maxwell's theory,
Production of an Electric wave and an alternating Magnetic field, magnetic wave
generation, Maxwell's equations and discussed in detail Electromagnetics
Applications like Antennas and Radars. The lecture also discussed about the
possibilities and reach abilities of research and development in ECE field,
opportunities in core technical areas with authenticated explanations.
The recent works on 5G projects handled by their team are discussed and
finally research directions in the area of 5G technologies are shared with the
participants. After his lecture the students were given time to interact with him.
Students felt that the session was more informative and interactive. At the end of
the guest lecture, two students gave their feedback, and explained how they were
benefited.
