What exactly is family? In the dictionary, a "family" is defined as a group of one or more parents
and their children who live together as a unit. There are many different definitions of the family; it can be
how other people perceive family or a literal definition, having a parent and a child, but this paper will
discuss how different families, marriages, and forms of kinship exist in Filipino families today.
First, consider the different types of families. In the nuclear family, most people today are much
more comfortable because they are the only ones living in their house. They can do whatever they want
without disturbing others since it is composed of parents and their own children, so they can live freely
without being limited in what they can do. The extended family is where generations live under one roof,
or it can be two nuclear families living together, where they are limited in what they can do because they
have anyone besides their own family. The blended family was not common in the past, but today most
families are this because of a previous marriage and living in a new family. In other words, it's similar to
a stepfamily. Most of the time, they are unable to communicate effectively because other members have
not yet accepted this type of circumstance. Filipino families are typically extended families, with most
members living with other relatives. My family's houses are close to each other, so it appears that we are
living as one. Ours is an extended family, with many nuclear families living in the same house.
Types of Marriages. Monogamy is one of the most common types of marriage today, and it is
defined as a marriage in which a person has only one partner. Exogamy in which it is not forbidden to
marry only within your group. Exogamy is the practice of marrying outside one's group. Polygamy is a
marriage with more than one partner. Endogamy refers to marriage within one's own community or
group. Polygamy and endogamy were common in the past, but they are still prevalent today. For example,
in Muslims, polygamy is permitted but only as polygyny; additionally, religious endogamy is required.
Today, monogamy and exogamy are the most common in society, with most marriages having one
partner and many of them being exogamy.
Forms of kinship. Kinship by blood, most families today do not live together like some overseas
workers, and even if they do, they use laptops, computers, and phones to communicate with one another
in order to maintain family connections. Kinship through marriage is similar to marrying in the church in
the past, and most of society still believes that being in a marriage will provide you with someone to care
for you. Today, marriages are not only performed in churches, but also in other locations where you want
to celebrate your special day. Finally, the Compadrazgo was extremely common among Filipinos. This is
where they become a family despite not being related by blood. It is most common in "binyag," where
parents entrust their children's lives to others or to their compadre. However, most people today
misunderstand the meaning of godparenthood; they believe that being a ninang/ninong provides support
for their children by providing gifts and covering the costs of some celebrations.
In conclusion, the extended family is the most common type of Filipino family that we see living
in a house today. In all types of marriages, Filipinos are most familiar with monogamy. Kinship by blood
is where they communicate with their family using technology. Kinship by marriage, where you can
marry anyone and anywhere in Filipino today, and finally the Compadrazgo, where people mislead about
the real meaning of godparenthood. We cannot define family in the English language because it is unique
to each individual.

The Philippines' current president is Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. (Bongbong Marcos). There aren't
many things he's proven or done because he was only elected a few months ago. This essay will begin by
discussing the president's ideology during the recent campaign. How does he use his power to rule over
people? Furthermore, what kind of leadership has he shown since the first day of his presidency?
The president's three ideologies are unity, which is the center of his campaign. The people must
be united to follow the leader, which will lead to the second ideology, "Pagsunod," or compliance, where
it becomes compliance to the leader's will and conformity to the groups that help them. Finally, there is us
vs them which arises from rival leaders and their camps holding opposing viewpoints and beliefs. From
Marcos' terrible past and other things he accomplished in the country, he gained the people's hearts, he
gained the hearts of the people and influenced them to vote for him. Also, he is utilizing his power to
bring everyone together to support them in all of their work for the Philippines. President Marcos'
leadership is shown by his use of legal authority to exercise his power. This is the type of authority in
which President Marcos bases his authority on what is stated in laws. Where I think he is acting in
accordance with the law in order to provide greater leadership for the country.
How did he respond to the most recent typhoon in the Philippines? According to the reporter
(Galvez, D.), President Marcos visited and coordinated the distribution of government assistance to
typhoon-affected areas in Antique about a week after the storm. President Marcos said he and other
government officials flew over the area to survey the damage caused by Typhoon Paeng. However, as
indicated by (Palatino, M.) before Typhoon Karding, President Marcos arrived in Manila after a state visit
to the United States. Typhoon Karding was forecast to make landfall in the afternoon, prompting
government agencies to issue emergency declarations and evacuate citizens in flood-prone areas.
However, President Marcos did not attend any agency briefings. However, late at night, he made a video
in which he discusses his travel to the United States, where many are upset with him for not being present
to deal with this type of situation.
Finally, President Marcos' authority is the legal authority, which he exercises through laws. Also,
Marcos' three ideologies are unity, conformity, and us versus them. Furthermore, he responds to Typhoon
Paeng by performing an inspection of the Antique area, and to Typhoon Karding by not attending any
typhoon-related agency meetings.
