Preaching at Mount Safa

The Prophet Muhammad went to Mount Safa in Mecca and called out to two tribes, asking if they would believe him if warned of an impending raid. When they said yes, he told them he was warning of a severe torment unless they believed that there is no god but Allah and they would succeed by following Him. His uncle Abu Lahab rejected this message, saying "Perish you all day!", and verses condemning him were immediately revealed, marking the first open preaching of Islam and the beginning of difficulties for early Muslims.
