1. Introduction:
1.1 Server Manager:
Windows Server Manager is a Server management console. It is used to
manage multiple Windows Servers from a single console. It also allows you to
install or remove server features on remote servers (Ashiedu, 2023).

1.2 What can we do in Server Manager?

We can perform the following tasks on a remote server added to the Server
Manager console:
1. Add Remote Servers:
We can add more servers to the dashboard, up to a maximum of 100.
Regardless of whether you are using the tool on Windows Server or
Windows 10, you may complete this task.
2. Add or Remove Roles or Features:
We can also add or delete server roles and functionality using Server
Manager. For example, you may set up the DHCP role on a distant
server.
3. Restart Remote Server:
Restarting a remote server is another action we can do in Server
Manager. Sys Admins can benefit much from this application.
4. Access Computer Management in Remote Servers:
This might be said to be the most significant aspect of Server Manager.
However, you must physically connect into the server and enable the
necessary Windows Firewall rules before you can launch Computer
Management for a remote server.
2. Aim:
The purpose of this logbook is to record and document each step involved in setting up
a Windows Server, such as renaming the server, enabling remote desktop access,
configuring a static IP address, choosing the proper time zone, managing Internet
Explorer's enhanced security settings, adding and removing users via both GUI and
Shell interfaces, and safely storing passwords as secure strings. This logbook will act as
a complete manual and reference for server administrators and IT specialists, assuring
accurate documentation of each action and enabling future server configuration
replication, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

3. Objective:
The objective of this logbook is to provide clear and concise documentation of essential
Windows Server configuration tasks. It aims to serve as a reference guide, facilitate
troubleshooting, promote knowledge sharing, and ensure consistent and secure server
setups.

5. Conclusion
In conclusion, this logbook has been effective in documenting important Windows
Server setup operations, providing server administrators and IT specialists with an
invaluable resource. Both novice and seasoned administrators may use the step-by-
step instructions offered for activities like changing the server name, configuring remote
desktops, configuring IP addresses, adjusting time zones, changing security settings,
managing users, and storing passwords securely as a dependable reference.

We wanted to simplify server management, enhance troubleshooting abilities,

encourage information exchange, and maintain consistency in server installations; thus
we made this logbook. The necessity of protecting crucial server resources is
underlined by the focus on security procedures, particularly secure password storage.

Having a thorough record of server configurations becomes more important as

technology advances. The best server management practises are demonstrated in this
logbook.
