Kathmandu
The Himalayan mountains encircle the
valley in which Kathmandu, the capital
of Nepal, is located. Durbar Square,
located in the center of the old city's
confusing lanes, comes to life during
the religious festival of Indra Jatra,
which features masked dances.
Momo
One of the most popular dishes in Nepal is
momos, which are traditional Nepalese
dumplings that are steamed or fried and filled
with a variety of meat or vegetables. Momo
are a staple food in Nepal and can be found in
almost every corner of the country, from small
street vendors to fancy restaurants.
Thukpa
If you’re a noodle soup lover, Thukpa makes you
excite with its awesome taste. In Kathmandu,
Thukpa noodle soup is very popular. It seems very
simple with boiled water, noodles, and different
vegetables but in taste levels, it is a good one to try.
Different masalas used in this noodle soup add more
taste to it. Thukpa is also be prepared in non-veg
style.
Pokhara
Pokhara, Nepal's most popular tourist
destination, is known for its Himalayan
range and lakes. Pokhara is also well-
known for its adventure activities such
as boating, trekking, rafting, canoeing,
and bungee jumping.

Karachi
Karachi, the capital of Sindh and the
biggest metropolitan city of Pakistan is
known for its diverse culture, advanced
education system, rich cuisine,
historical sites, best shopping malls, top
cinemas and various farmhouses and of
course, the beautiful deep blue sea.
GOLA GANDA
A list of desi food in Karachi is incomplete
without Gola Ganda, for sure. However, the
best gola gandas are sold in Dhoraji, Karachi.
Not only are they much bigger but the
addition of toppings like pineapples, cherries,
and condensed milk make them a heavenly
sight.
SHAWARMA
Most restaurants in Karachi do not sell authentic
shawarmas as they are just wrapped up in plain
bread. However, there is one joint that claims to sell
authentic ones, and it is called Pita. The outlet
cannot be compared to a typical street food vendor,
but it is undoubtedly the first in the city to
successfully live up to its claims of selling authentic
Lebanese shawarma.
Quetta
Quetta is known as the fruit basket of
Pakistan producing plums, peaches,
pomegranates, apricots, apples, melons,
cherries, pistachios and almonds. Saffron
grows very well on mountains around 5000
high and is cultivated on a commercial scale.
The yellow and red varieties of tulip grow wild
around Quetta.
Lassi
Lassi is a traditional yoghurt-based beverage from
Pakistan that is flavored with sugar and other fruits,
such as mango or strawberry. In Quetta, it’s a well-
liked street beverage, especially in the sweltering
summertime. There is something for everyone, from
the well-liked sweet lassi served at neighborhood
dhabas to the creamy mango lassi served at elite
eateries.
Beef Samosa
The traditional Beef Samosa is one of the
many delectable foods that can be found in
Quetta. A flavorful snack composed of meat
and spices, beef samosas are crispy, crunchy,
and delicious. Visitors to Quetta must try this
beef samosa, which is popular in many
restaurants of the city.
Colombo
Colombo City is specially known as
being one of the most important port
cities of the Indian Ocean. It is home
to one of the largest artificial
harbours in the world that is
responsible for the majority of foreign
trade.

Tapioca Chips
Tapioca or Cassava is a root that needs to be
cleaned to remove mud, wherein the raw tubers
have their inner rind and outer skin removed. The
chips are then deep-fried in coconut oil. Served
with a seasoning of salt and chilly powder,
Cassava or Tapioca chips are thin crispy and
crunchy wafers that can be munched anytime.
Maalu Paan
Maalu Paan is a fish bun eaten as a snack with tea or
savoured as a Colombian breakfast meal. The pastry dough
is a mixture of yeast, flour, salt, sugar and water. The
triangle-shaped soft bread is filled with mashed potatoes,
garlic, grated coconut, ginger, curry leaves, green chillies
and onions, along with canned Mackerel fish mixed in Sri
Lankan spices. The golden-brown snack is a must-try for
seafood lovers.
Trincomalee
Famous for its deep, sapphire-
blue harbour, its powdery
beaches and charming Hindu
culture, Trincomalee has always
been one of Sri Lanka's most
captivating destinations.
Pittu
Although Pittu used for breakfast earlier, it has
become a popular dinner food item now. Pittu is
a combination of rice flour and grated coconut.
You can use either red or white rice flour to make
pittu. Some people use steamed wheat flour for
making pittu too. Pittu looks beautiful on the
dinner table, with its unique cylindrical shape.
Thosai
Thosai is the Sri Lankan name for Indian dosa.
Although this dish is a favorite among the Tamil
community, you can find it anywhere on the island.
It is a pancake made from a smooth batter and
cooked in a hot griddle. Thosai is usually served
with a vegetable gravy call as sambaru and spicy
coconut sambol. This is a delicious combination to
try for your dinner in Sri Lanka.
