QUESTIONS:
1. What probably caused the percentage difference between the two methods of measuring
the volume of the objects?
The reason between their difference is the estimation.
2. Of the two measuring devices used in the experiment, which gives the more accurate result?
Why?
The vernier caliper gives the more accurate result when compared to ruler since
the vernier caliper measures the object at exact value, without estimation.
3. Why must the edge of the meterstick, rather than the broader side, be adjacent to the
dimension being measured?
When using a meterstick to measure an object, the scale should be placed
edgewise on the subject because being eye level will increase the accuracy of
your result.
4. Why is it important to have accurate and precise instruments in measurements?
It is important to have accurate and precise instrument in measurement is
because when measurements are not accurate, this provides incorrect data that
can lead to wrong or even dangerous conclusions or results, which can be
applied in our daily life.
5. Explain the proper way of reading the measurement using a measuring instrument/device
such as ruler or meter stick.
When using a measuring device such as meter stick or a ruler the scale should be
place edgewise on the subject, or simply place the zero end of the meter stick on
the left end of what you are measuring.
