your axe is your plan How to Identify your Population Sample?

You have three steps you need to take:

1- Identify the Unit of Analysis: It is about making

decisions before selecting the sample, these
decisions are: What participants will I study? At
Select participants what level your data will be gathered? How many
participants will I include? What sampling method
will I choose?
2- Sampling Method: There are two methods of
sampling: Probability sampling method ( Simple
Random Sampling and Systematic Sampling) and
Non-Probability Sampling (Convenience Sampling
and Snowball Sampling).

Permissions (Need to be get prior to the study) : We have

Obtain permissions two types of permissions: Obtaining an Informed
Consent(from individuals), and Reviewing the Board
Approval(from authority, for e.g: institutions)

The third step is to decide what type or types of data to

collect . This decision begins with specifying the variables
in your research questions or hypotheses , defining these
variables , and seeking measures that operationalize these
Select types of definitions . Typical quantitative data consists of measures
of performance and attitudes , observations of behavior ,
data and records and documents.

The fourth step is to locate , modify , or develop

instruments that provide these measures . The easiest
procedure is to use an existing instrument or modify one
rather than develop your own instrument . Procedures
exist for searching for an instrument , and when you find
Identify one that may be satisfactory , consider whether scores
from past uses of it are reliable and valid , whether the
instruments procedure for recording information fits your research
questions / hypotheses , and whether the scales will
measure either categorical or continuous data .

The final step involves actually collecting the data . Your

procedures need to be standard so that there is a uniform
procedure for data collection . Also , as with all phases in
Administer data research , the data collection process needs to be
collection conducted in a way that is ethical to individuals and to
research sites .
