WILHELM WUNDT (1879)
Founded the first psychological laboratory.
In 1862, Wundt was already using his thought meter
that supposedly to measure the swiftness of thought of
observers Gregory (1991).
FRANCIS GALTON (1822–1911)
Pioneered of Experimental psychology in Great
Britain. He devised methods for measuring
intellect by means of reaction time and sensory
discrimination.
Important works: Hereditary Genius (1869) and
inqueries into Human Faculty in its
Developement.
JAMES MCKEEN CATTELL (1890)
He introduced “mental tests” and it is one of his
notable contribution to measure cognitive
abilities (Gregory, 1991).
ROBERT YERKES : ARMY TEST (WORLD WAR I)
In 1917, he was a President of the American
Psychological Society.
He was the one who conducted intelligence tests
for the recruits to the army. Army Alpha and
Army beta tests are questionnaires to test if this
recruits are capable to serve their country by
evaluating their verbal, numerical ability and able
to follow intstructions (Gregory, 1991).

ALFRED BINET AND THEODORE SIMON
Alfred Binet invented the first modern intelligence test in 1905.

distinguishe younger to older (Gregory, 1991).
DAVID WECHSLER
He invented intelligence test for adults and revised for children
