A peripheral device is an auxiliary device used
to put information into and get information out
of a computer.
Peripheral devices are classified into three
types. These types are
Input device that controls a computer screen's -input
cursor or pointer in conjunction with the way it is
-output
moved on a flat surface
-storage
Characteristic
one or more buttons to
allow operations such as
the selection of a menu
item on a display
controls the motion of
a pointer in two
dimensions in a
graphical user
interface (GUI)
Pros
-faster to select options
-easy to use
-take up little desk space
Cons
-need a flat space
