4. Challenges Encountered by Araling Panlipunan Teachers.
In
table 13 it presents the challenges that encounter by the teacher in teaching
Araling Panlipunan in differentiation instruction. The table below shows the
different emerging themes that those teachers experience in teaching Araling
Panlipunan.
Domain A, focuses on the teachers challenges encounter by Araling
Panlipunan teachers in facilitating differentiation instruction in teaching secondary
in DepEd Batangas City. It can be seen most of the teachers encounter
challenges in time constraint which makes them have a limited time to do their
workloads and preparing for their lesson to be discussed. And some say that they
have difficulty in teaching because of the diversity that the students have.
In the study of Bhatnagar (2018) time management is a major challenge as the
content to be delivered in a specified time is too vast. In this study represents that
there are many problems that the teachers experience and one of those is tine
constraints which it limits the teachers need to do because of their time is limited.
Meanwhile, some of the teachers experience some challenges in teaching Araling
Panlipin in facilitating differentiation instruction are diversity of the students and
lack of resources inside of the classroom.

According to Lertyongphati (2023) differences among students can either help
them learn how to collaborate or they can prevent them from working together.
This can present complications in teaching such students as they may not be
willing to interact with others in order to attain new insights. Meanwhile, some
teachers say that the problems they encounter is lack of resources and some
students have no interest in the subject. Overall, in terms of the challenges
encounter by Araling Panlipunan teachers in facilitating differentiation instruction
are time constraints that limit their teaching diversity inside of the classroom and
lack of resources that the teacher used in teaching.
5. Differentiated Activities in Teaching to Engage and Motivate
Students. In table 14 it presents the differentiated activities in teaching to engage
and motivate students. The table below shows the emerging themes what the
teacher does or suggested to engage and motivate their students in facilitating
differentiated instruction. Domain B focuses on what activities may be prepared to
engage and motivate students in facilitating differentiated instruction in secondary
Araling Panlipunan in DepEd Batangas City. It can be seen that most of the
teachers or participants their activities that may be prepared is role play, debate
and group activity.

Stated by Northern Illinois University (2023), role playing can be effectively
used in the classroom to motivate and engage students, provide real-world
scenarios to help students learn and learn skills used in real-world situations
(negotiation, debate, teamwork, cooperation, persuasion). In addition to that, in
the study of QatarDebate (2023) debate helps learners to see the power of
deploying rational, reasoned arguments and compelling evidence in action and
providing an engaging, active, learner-centered activity. In both study presents
that role play and debate make the students engage and motivate and also
develop some skills.
Likewise, some of the teachers their activities may be prepared were group
activities. As stated from Mcdonald (2020), this provides students with an
opportunity to improve their communication skills, collaboration and provides a
larger capacity for brainstorming different ideas. This not only contributes to a
more holistic approach to learning but can help group productivity as well. In this
study it shows that group activity or group work can develop and enhance the
different skills of the students which can help to be motivated and engage in
learning.
In general, in terms of the differentiated activities in teaching may be
proposed to engage and motivate students in teaching of Araling Panlipunan, it
can be seen on the shared interviews, most of them suggested activities may be
prepared role playing and debate and also the other one activity may be prepared
were group activities.
