SOLAR SYSTEM

The Sun
The sun is a 4.5 billion year old star.
It’s the biggest object in our solar system.
Nothing could survive on the sun.

Jupiter
Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system.
Jupiter is a gas giant made of hydrogen and helium.
Jupiter has 95 officially recognized moons.

Saturn
Saturn is a Gas Giant made of made of Helium
Saturn has huge rings made by bits of ice, dust and rock.
Saturn has 82 confirmed moons.

Uranus
Uranus is the coldest planet in the solar system-
It’s an ice giant, made of icy materials like water and methane
Uranus is the only planet that spins on its side.

Neptune
Neptune is dark, cold, and very windy.
Neptune, like Uranus, is an ice giant.
Neptune has 16 moons.

Venus
Is the the hottest planet in the solar system.
Looks like the earth and has mountains and volcanoes.
A day on Venus lasts 243 Earth days.

Earth
It is the only planet that contains life until now.
About 71 percent of the Earth’s surface is water.
Earth isn’t perfectly round.

Mars
Mars is called the Red Planet and it’s very cold.
Mars has two moons: Phobos and Deimos.
It is a terrestrial planet, so you can walk on it.

Mercury
Mercury is the smallest planet in our Solar System.
It is the second hottest planet in the Solar System.
A day on Mercury takes 59 Earth days.

Pluto
The surface of Pluto is extremely cold, so life could not exist there.
Pluto has five known moons: Charon, Nix, Hydra, Kerberos, and Styx.
Pluto's surface has mountains, valleys, plains, and craters.
