My client is an airport pre-book parking product and is a rapidly expanding part of the business
with clients in Europe and North America. The team are dedicated to offering enhanced user
experience for their clients’ customers, delivering a solution that drives engagement and
increases non aeronautical revenue for airports and ports.

strategies as well as dedicating themselves to discovering and nurturing fresh talent, many of
which you will find carrying on our ethos within various digital agencies and blue chip companies
throughout the North of England.
My client is currently expanding and have an exciting opportunity for a developer to join their
Java development team! You’ll be working with a team of 10 experienced Java developers in their
R&D department to develop an open-source product for use by businesses across the globe.
Specifically, you will work on their cutting-edg product, a scalable airport pre-book parking
system solution allowing airports to create a virtual terminal for their customers. Having recently
won several large contracts in the US and Europe, both with airports and multinational parking
providers, there are experiencing a period of high growth, making it an ideal and exciting time to
join the team!
Reporting to a lead developer you will be mentored and work on all parts of the cloud-based
system, eventually touching all parts of the project lifecycle. Working within their multi-
functional agile delivery team, you will liaise with Product and Project Managers, Client Services
Managers and Business Analysts who will form part of the project team.
Essential Skills
Excellent knowledge of Java programming
Good knowledge of programming principles and the web
Understanding of scripting and mark-up languages (JavaScript/JQuery, HTML, CSS etc)
Experience of relational databases
Ability to undertake research and self-study in a disciplined manner
Good interpersonal & communication skills
Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work under pressure
Desire to learn new technologies and ways of working
Desirable Skills
Experience of Apache Tomcat 7.0+ (Servlets and JSP)
Experience of MySQL
Experience of Unit Testing
Experience of continuous integration systems and build tools (e.g. Jenkins, Maven,
Docker)
Experience of Eclipse IDE
Experience of best practice coding (e.g. design patterns/principles)
Experience of version control systems (e.g. Git, SVN, Mercurial)
