2.2 Configure the switch_A and switch_B so that

a) PC A1 can ping PC A2.
b) PC X1 can ping PC X2

If both (a) and (b) is successful then your trunking configuration is correct.

2.3 Explain why does PC A1 cannot ping PC X1. Vice-versa

Lab 3. Inter-VLAN Routing using external Router. (non-802.1q router)

Assigned
a) VLAN 10 to 192.168.10.0 /24
b) VLAN 20 to 192.168.20.0/24

3.2 Configure the switch_A, switch_B and RTA so that all PC can ping each other.

If everybody can ping each other then your trunking and routing configuration is correct.

3.3 Explain why does PC A1 ping PC X1? Why the ping is not successful in Lab 1 and Lab 2.

b) VLAN 20 to 192.168.20.0/24

4.2 Configure the switch_A, switch_B and RTA so that all PC can ping each other.

If everybody can ping each other then your trunking and routing configuration is correct.

4.3 Explain why only one router port is required in RTA instead of two router port in Lab 3.?

PC A1 PC X2
Vlan 10 Vlan 20

PC X1 PC A3 PC A2
Vlan 20 Vlan 10 Vlan 10

5.1 Draw the above network using Packet Tracer 5.1 with the above network configuration.
Assigned
a) VLAN 10 to 192.168.10.0 /24
b) VLAN 20 to 192.168.20.0/24

5.2 Configure the switch_A and switch_B so that

a) PC A1, PC A2 and PC A3 can ping each other
b) PC X1 can ping PC X2

If both (a) and (b) is successful then your trunking and native VLAN configuration is correct.

5.3 Explain how native VLAN enable PC A1 to ping PC A3 without affecting the switchport trunking
configuration.

Lab 6. Configure IP Address in the Switch

RTA
Fa0/0 trunk mode

Switch_A Switch_B
PC A1 PC X2
Vlan 10 Vlan 20

PC X1 PC A2
Vlan 20 Vlan 10

6.1 Draw the above network using Packet Tracer 5.1 with the above network configuration.

6.2 Create an interface VLAN10 on switch_A and interface VLAN20 on switch_B. Assign the respective ip
address and default-gateway on switch_A and switch_B. Both are layer 2 switches.

Note: You can configure multiple VLAN interfaces on a Catalyst 2950 or 2960 switch. However, only one
interface is active at any one time. If interface VLAN 10 is down, it does not mean that VLAN 10 is down (not
operational). However, if VLAN 10 is down, most likely interface VLAN 10 is down.

6.3 Ensure that you can ping switch_A and switch_B IP Address from both PC A1 and PC X1. If the ping is
successful, your configuration is correct.

Lab 7. Configure EtherChannel on Switches.

Switch A
PC2
Fa0/1 Fa0/9

Fa0/1 Fa0/9
PC1
Switch B

Configure the above network with PC1 and PC2 in the same IP subnet. Configure EtherChannel on port Fa0/1
and fa0/9. Write down the EtherChannel configuration below.

Do a continuous ping from PC1 to PC2, quickly remove one of the link in the Etherchannel group. Pluck back
one of the link and remove the other link once the ping recovered.

How long does it take for the EtherChannel to recover from a connectivity lost?

Does the conversation between PC1 and PC2 always remain in one link? Yes/No. Why?

Lab 8. Configure Static MAC address and Port Security on Switches.

Configure the above network. Make sure that

i) Switch port fa0/1 can only be used by Server0 and no other PC can use that port fa0/1.
ii) PC0 and PC1 must stay in port fa0/4 and fa0/3 only. PC0 and PC1 will be inaccessible if they are
moved to another port.
iii) All PC and servers are in the same IP subnet
Note: Cat3560 in Packet Tracer 5.1 does not support port security. Use 2960 and 2950 instead

Write down the configuration for the switch to enforce the above policy

PC1 must be able to ping PC3

Delete the switch 3 (VTP Server) from the network.
