1 Introduction
In today’s modern world, there are relationships between different company environments. And
here’s comes the green computing which refers to making the right use of computers and saving
our environment by it. But, in today’s world the more we use our computers, the more we are
making our environment worse. It’s because of the energy consumption of the data center,
production of different computer parts and dumping of old and rusty computers. This research
unveils the necessity of green computing and why we need to use our computer using less energy.
We will explore rules, and will understand how they affect various businesses and we will find
our ways to make them even better. Our main goal is to not just talk about problems and but also
find solutions which will lead to a better environment around us.

2 Background
The fast growth of information technology in the modern world has made our life much easier.
It’s revolutionized the way of communication, work and our living styles. However, with each
success there comes a side effect and this is no exception. Access use of this technology may
lead to an environmental downfall. But here comes Green Computing whose main purpose is to
find ways to use our computers and technologies without harming the environment.

Green computing was first introduced when people realized that the devices which are
electronic and used in regular bases can cause harm to the environment. People realized that by
getting rid of old computers may lead to waste and can be harmful in many ways. With the
passing time, green computing extended to a broader way and not just managing electronic
waste. One of the important ideas in green computing is to research the lifecycle of a computer
and find a way to minimize its waste and how to use it in a better way.
As this becomes important from time to time many governments issue some rules about
safety and eco-friendly guidance for the various tech industries. For example, the European
Union issued rules like the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS). And in response,
companies started making eco-friendly computers and they started to follow the rules of green
computing. The next part of this paper describes the rules of green computing which will help to
saving our environment and how these rules will affect a company and we will find ideas about
how we can make technologies more environmentally friendly.

3 Problem Statement
In the modern world technology is one of the most important things in our day-to-day life. We are
dependent on it in various ways. But this also brings some issues. One of the most common issues
is the reduction of old electronics. Which leads to a pile of waste. This will cause various
problems to our environment.
There is also another problem which is caused by big data centers around the world.
Because these centers use a lot of energy to function which add to the carbon footprint that is not
good for the environment. The more advanced our computers are becoming, the more power we
need to function those technologies which lead to an excessive use of power. Even though we are
trying to build eco-friendly computers, these big data centers are making it hard for us to convert
every computer into an eco-friendly device.
Even though Governments trying to set various rules to prevent the excess use of energy,
the rules are different in various places. Which makes it harder for the companies to follow. Also,
sometimes Governments can’t cope up with the rapid growth of technologies which makes it
trickier to provide a set of rules which align with the latest technologies. So, throughout this
research paper we will try to provide solutions for these problems and give our thoughts about
these problems.

4 Objectives
Previously we wrote that green technology has a set of rules which will help us to create eco
friendly computers. Our objective is to understand these rules and regulations. We will try to
improve these set of rules to provide better solutions for eco-friendly computers and technologies.
We’ll research the rules and will try to understand them better. These also include rules from
different countries which will help us to know how different the rules are across the different
countries.

We will explore how these rules affect the companies. Which means we will look into real
examples and reports. How companies applied those rules and how they are affected by it. We
will look into the problem and figure out if these rules are making companies change their plans
or not. These will make it easier to understand what it means to be an eco-friendly company. But
these rules will not work in every situation, so we will research in which situation is suitable for
which rules and regulations. After all the research and based on what we find we will make our
own ideas about how green computing can lead to a better environment which will make people's
lives more comfortable and healthier at the same time.

5 Focus and Limitations

Our main focus lies in finding the connection between rules and eco-friendly practices in the tech
industry and how different companies act depending on these rules. We are not just talking about
rules here, we will also explore how these rules affect a company in different ways and how a
company follows these rules. Another important thing to discuss is, do these rules make
companies change their plans and if yes, how companies get to work with it. Different countries'
approaches to green technology will be different. So, we will study various kinds of rules from
different countries to get a better understanding.
But it will not be an easy task to do. We will face various challenges in our way. These
are some of the common problems we might face.
The green commuting rules are not static. It’s changing day by day as technology
advances. So, there could be new rules issued while we are conducting our studies or a previous
rule might be updated. There’s also an issue about the different ways of various tech industries.
We might need to know more about each of the companies to get a better understanding as each
of these companies will be different from each other.
Tech is not a small field to work with. There are various kinds of services, hardware and
software. Our studies will mainly focus on the hardware part of tech industries. Different
companies do their work differently. We might not get a chance to explore all of it but we will try
to show the ways of some companies to get an idea about how this works. Apart from rules,
technology is also changing day by day. Which is also a big issue.

6 Research Questions
When it comes to green computing, we have a lot of questions to answer. But this research might
not be able to answer all of the questions. So, we picked some common issues and tried to
address them.
1. From various rules of green computing what are the main ones?
There are lots of rules in green computing. But there have to be some important rules. Our goal is
to find those questions. We might need to search for various companies.
2. How are the rules different across the world in different companies?

As there are companies all over the world, the rules might be different in terms of where the
companies are located. Our goal is to see how different the rules are across various companies.
These also include the company policy, what technology they use and what rule they follow. 3.
How do these rules affect the companies?
When companies applied those rules, they might need to change some ways of how they worked.
Some companies even need to change their plan of work. So, we need to know how these rules
are affecting the companies and in what ways.
4. How do these rules influence the plans of big companies?
We will explore how these rules will change the plan of different companies. Especially the big
ones. These might include a big project, or a big investment. Depending on the company. 5.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of current rules?
So, the rules of green computing have both advantages and disadvantages. They can’t work in
every situation. They might be inconsistent or might not align with the latest technologies. There
could be many problems or advantages.
After solving these questions, we might get a better understanding of what green computing is,
how it works and what new rules we should implement to get our environment.

7 Methodology
Our initial steps are to read and understand a bunch of previous papers which were written on this
topic. We want to know what others think about green computing. What are their questions and
solutions? How they handled various problems. We’ll also study the rules of green computing.
Because to provide a better solution we first need to understand the existing ones. We want to
know what these rules are about and how they are beneficial to making our environment better.
We will look into the real-life example of environment friendly rules and how different
companies applied these rules into their work. We’ll try to talk to the important people of the
industry if we get access to it. Our plan is to create surveys and ask various questions to the
different companies about how they think about green computing. We will ask them about the
type of computers they used and what rules they are following to provide an environment
friendly office.
We will also validate our research and make sure our plans and solutions are trustworthy.
We will try to get feedback from professionals and validate our information from them.

8 Result and Analysis

Till now we were talking about the rules of green computing. But what are these rules actually?
There are various sets of rules. These rules vary in different places. Rules include use of energy
efficient parts to make computers, making use of the electronic waste and also some good
practice to follow. We have studied different companies for this paper. Companies which work
with data centers are trying their best to reduce the use of energy in their work. They are tending
towards renewable energy which will be very crucial for green computing. Companies are
making sure they are getting the right materials which will help them to prevent excessive use of
energy.

We also get to know that many companies are changing their plans and they are adding
sustainability into their technologies. They are using resources which people want and these will
lead to a better eco-friendly environment. We asked many companies and got to know their green
computing practices. They are using resources which will save energy and also, we found out that
companies which are practicing green computing tend to do better in other areas.
We also compared the rules in various countries and got to know how they differ from
each other. But even after the difference we found out that the main goal of all these countries
who issued rules and regulations about green computing is to prevent energy waste and make our
environment a better place.
We didn’t just take our info and published it. We also verified our information in many
ways. We contacted the industry expert and tried to reach out to them for their validation. These
findings are just a subset of what we should do to get our environment clean. There are many
other ways to do it. This paper only explores a part of it. There are a lot of things to improve. For
the future, people can discover new rules which will be more beneficial to us.

9 Discussion

9.1 Clear Answer to the Research Questions

The main purpose of the rules of green computing are the safe energy, better usage of electronic
waste and making our environment a better place. But not every country has a similar set of rules.
These rules vary across countries. But their main motive is to save the environment. We also
found out how these rules are affecting the companies.
For example, many data centers are going for renewable energy to reduce their energy
consumption. Some are careful about the parts they are getting. Because these parts are the main
things which create a final product. So, use of eco-friendly parts will lead to a better product
which will be beneficial for the environment. There are also some problems with those rules. For
example, different countries have different set of rules which make it harder for companies to
follow them.

9.2 Significance of the Results

The result we get from our research can be beneficial for schools and companies both. By
studying about green computing, schools can provide eco-friendly equipment for the students.
They can also teach our students what green computing actually is, so they can be ready for the
future. When conducting research about green computing in various countries we get to know
about their culture and rules. Which gives us a new perspective of how green computing vary
across countries.
It’s not just school but companies also can find our results useful. Because knowing how
these rules will affect them, they can prepare for it in advance. We mention in our paper that
companies following eco-friendly practices tend to get success then other companies who don’t.
By knowing our findings, they will have a lead to make their decisions about how they can
implement green computing into their business.
9.3 Comparison of the Results
After conducting research about various countries and how they operate their rules about the
green computing practices, we get to know many differences and similarities. All country's rules
align with the motive that saving the environment is the main thing to do. But their rules are
different from each other. It’s like their goal is the same but the ways they are doing it are
different. We understand from this, that when improving a rule or creating a new one we first
need to understand that these rules vary across countries.

9.4 Limitations and Future Work

Even after we did many things in this research, the technology is upgrading day by day and as a
result the Government is issuing new rules based on the latest technology. And also, in this paper
we only focused on data centers and hardware parts of technologies.
For the future work, we will suggest readers to look into the world of quantum and edge
computing as this is the future of technology. Also doing long term research can help us to
understand how an environment friendly project is beneficial to the environment. If one can look
into the whole tech industry rather than just a subset of it it will be beneficial for everyone as they
will get to know all the aspects of technology and which sides need what type of rules to
implement green computing.

10 Conclusion
So, the main summary of this paper is to get to know about the rules of green computing, how
different companies implement them and how they vary across different countries. Our results
show that to prevent excessive energy waste we can tend towards renewable energy. Even though
every country has the same goal in mind their approaches are different.
We know that these studies are not complete and there is room for improvement. But the
result we found is also beneficial. We found out that companies which are practicing green
computing are doing better than others. We need to look out for different aspects in the tech
industry to get a better understanding of how green computing can be beneficial for our
environment and why every company should practice it. As technology keeps upgrading day by
day, we need to keep up with it and have to create new sets of rules for the latest technologies.
Every person who is connected to it should come together and make the world a better place by
practicing and implementing rules of green computing.
