Target Path – A recommended version of software that is intended for general use in B-series Fibre
Channel storage area networks. A specified release of software is identified as Target Path only after it
meets well-defined Brcade criteria for quality. A version of software that was once designated as Target
Path but has since been replaced by newer versions of Target Path on the same code stream is referred to
as “Retired Target Path.”

A version of software that was once designated as Target Path or FICON but has since been replaced by
newer versions of Target Path or FICON on the same code stream is referred to as “Retired Target Path” or
“Retired FICON”.
The FICON support in this table is based on Brocade FICON support. The HPE FICON support for the HPE
XP arrays is listed in section later in this stream.

Some versions of FOS are supported but not available for download. FOS versions available for download
will show a “Yes” in the Firmware Posted column. The remaining versions are active, but not available for
download.
Broadcom defines End-of-Support (EOS) as : The date that the specified software release or version level
is no longer available from Broadcom and is typically no longer supported. For FOS software, supported
EOS versions are designated as Legacy Supported and Availability Releases (LSA) and are supported only
for hardware platforms that cannot be upgraded to a Minimum Major Version release.

LW in the posted column denotes the SN3600B Lifetime Warrenty switches PSD is posted for the version.

FOS 8.2.3a should not be used on Brocade SAN Switch for HPE c-Class.

HPE SN8600B 64/32 Short Wave 8QSFP Integrated Fibre Channel Blade requires FOS 8.2.0a or later.
Brocade G610 switch type 170.4 also requires FOS 9.x but is not an HPE branded switch.
Synergy Custom SPP 2019.04.0 or higher is required for the Brocade FC SAN Switch Module for HPE Synergy

The SN6600B FC Switch with switch type 183.5 or higher requires FOS 9.1.1b as a minimum version.
The (R7R97A, R8P28A, R8P29A and R4G55B) SN3600B switch type 170.5 or higher come with a lifetime warrrenty. They support all of
the listed FOS versions supported by non-lifetime warrenty SN3600B but only specific target path releases will be available on the assit
portal. These are denoted by LW in the FOS support table posted column.

FOS 8.2.x has reached Brocade End of Support (EOS) on July 28, 2023.
FOS 8.2.3d and later are not supported on Gen 6 platforms. Gen 6 platforms should migrate to FOS 9.x. Gen 5 will continue to support

Fabric switches running FOS 7.4.x are not supported in fabrics with switches running FOS 9.x. The FOS 7.4.x switch must either be
in Access Gateway mode or separated from the 9.x switch by an EX_Port.
FOS 7.4.x has reached Brocade End of Support (EOS) on March 30, 2019. Gen 4 platforms will continue to support FOS 7.4.x as a
Legacy Support and Availability (LSA) version until the platform EOS date.
Gen 4 8Gb switch model platforms and blades not shown have reached their End of Support Life (EOSL) date and are no longer
supported. Extension switches are located in the extension switch section.
