1-1. How does BRIN contribute to the national infectious disease surveillance in
Indonesia? How often is it reported based on the diseases and/or classification of
diseases?

1-2. How does BRIN contribute to the national pathogen genome surveillance? What
sequencing approaches are used? How often is it reported based on the diseases and/or
classification of diseases?
1-3. During the Covid-19, did your country conduct the pathogen genomic surveillance
on SARS-Cov-2? If yes, were you in charge of analyzing and submitting data? How?
1-4. What were the issues that caused genomic surveillance capacity gaps during
Covid-19?
2. SPECIMEN COLLECTION
2-1. What types of specimen (or viruses) can be sent to BRIN? Where could the specimen
be sent from?
2-2. Do you send the specimen to the overseas reference laboratory? If yes, for which
viruses and in what conditions?
2-3. What are the most common specimen rejection cases you see?
2-4. Are there enough and appropriate PPEs (disposable gloves, full-length laboratory
coats/gowns, eye protection, face shields, masks/respirators)? Are there any continuous
training or refresher training available for biosafety and prevention of infection?
3. SEQUENCE ANALYSIS
3-1. What are the pathogens that can be sequenced at BRIN?
3-2. How is the SOP or standard protocol for laboratory quality management used?
Are there any challenges in terms of laboratory quality management?
3-3. Has BRIN acquired ISO (i.e. ISO 15189:2012) or any relevant domestic
standards for laboratories if there are any? If you don't are you planning to obtain it
in the near future?
3-4. What are the challenges in terms of laboratory quality management?
3-5. What are the measures to avoid contamination (specimen to specimen, PPEs
and laboratory instruments, pipetting techniques etc.)?

(i.e. with reagents and pipetting)?

suppliers?

4-1. What computer is used for bioinformatics (i.e. super computer, server, desktop,
laptop)?
4-2. Do you use commercial software such as CLC biobench for bioinformatics? Or
do you use free software and tools for bioinformatics?
4-3. What kind of technical support and training you would like to have for
bioinformatics?
4-4. How and by whom is the result of genomic analysis interpreted in public health
term?
