> What is the difference between self-knowledge and self-

understanding?

According to studies, "Self-knowledge" is becoming aware of our

traits, abilities, and personal history by reflection, as a way to
understand both conscious (things we know) and unconscious
(things we do not know) aspects of ourselves. Self-
knowledge serves as a foundation for understanding the basics of
who we are as individuals. On the other hand, "self-understanding"
is more in-depth, it focuses on the significance and meaning of our
experiences, feelings, and beliefs. Understanding the underlying
causes needs an in-depth assessment of our emotions and life
events. Both are interconnected and play a vital part in our personal
development.

• Different Personality Traits •

Robert McCrae and Paul Costa developed the Five-Factor Model

(FFM) to organize traits hierarchically, describing the personality
in terms of five broad factors. This is also referred to as OCEAN:
Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness,
Neuroticism.
