CONTROL ROOM OPERATIONS SOP
Purpose -
Security Control Room is set up on ground floor of Office building for round the clock video surveillance and tight vigil of the plant activities.
Duties’ of Control Room Operators will include monitoring the CCTV, dealing with anything that looks out of place, ensuring Walky Talky is
always operational and manned, tracking all vehicles movement and sending out Security Alerts via the walky talky or land-line phone.
To ensure the smooth and effective day to day running of the site based Control Room function. To keep the Security Supervisor and HR Team
informed of incidents, and to ensure the smooth and effective day to day running of the site based Control Room function
The main functions of a security control room include:
a) A central control point for all communications
b) The control on the deployment of security personnel on duty.
c) Control and monitoring of security and safety systems such as CCTV, fire, intruder and access control
d) The storage and issue of any security equipment, protective equipment or emergency equipment
e) An incident management point for response to emergencies including liaison with other agencies.
Roles and responsibilities:
1. Perform Control Room daily operations with high integrity and efficiency.
2. Monitor CCTV during the shift and report any unusual activity to Duty Security Supervisor.
3. Respond promptly to the radio checks, made by the security patroller and keep accurate records of all communication.
4. Keep a record of any incidents and report these to the Duty Security Supervisor.
5. Monitor Vehicle and Men movements within plant premises and at Main gate.
6. To assist and monitor the Security Team to respond to incidents.
7. To ensure that all incidents, which occur during the course of your duties, are reported promptly and recorded within the guidelines laid
down and efficiently dealt with.
8. To conduct a patrol of the premises using CCTV internally noting results in the Daily occurrence log.
9. To ensure that all work performed on-site by contractors have valid permits and all safety precautions in place for the execution of the
work.
10. To ensure the filing is completed during the day.
11. To ensure that all washrooms are properly cleaned by the sweeper of the shift
12. To ensure that all suggestion boxes are checked regularly and any form/s in any suggestion boxes to be handed over to HR head.
13. To ensure that all manpower deployment forms are updated regularly in all 03 shifts and signed by authorities
14. To ensure that all contract worker attendance registers are entered properly for manual attendance
15. To ensure that background forms are duly filled by all contractors prior to joining of all new workers
16. To ensure that notice boards are updated regularly with information.
17. To ensure the handover of any outstanding work.
18. To ensure that all systems are logged off before leaving.
19. Any other duties deemed necessary to the post.
20. To ensure that as far as possible the factory premise remains secure and any suspicious activity is noted and communicated in line with
standard operating procedures.
21. Inform Duty Security Supervisor of any Security related incident. Instigate telephone Tree where directed to do so.
