Reciprocal Identities

sin(θ) = 1/csc(θ) csc(θ) = 1/sin(θ) cot(θ) = cos(θ)/sin(θ)

cos(θ) = 1/sec(θ) sec(θ) = 1/cos(θ) tan(θ) = sin(θ)/cos(θ)

tan(θ) = 1/cot(θ) cot(θ) = 1/tan(θ)

Pythagorean Identities:
There are three Pythagorean trigonometric identities in trigonometry that are based on the right-triangle theorem or Pythagoras
theorem.

sin2 θ + cos2 θ = 1

sin2 θ = 1 − cos2 θ tan2 θ + 1 = sec2 θ cot2 θ + 1 = csc2 θ

cos2 θ = 1 − sin2 θ tan2 θ = sec2 θ − 1 cot2 θ = csc2 θ – 1

Opposite Angle Identities:

Sin (−θ) = −sin(θ) Tan −θ) = −tan(θ) Sec (−θ) = sec(θ)

Cos (−θ) = cos(θ) Cot (−θ) = −cot(θ) Csc (−θ) = −csc(θ)

Product-Sum Trigonometric Identities

The product-sum trigonometric identities change the sum or Trigonometric Identities of Products
difference of sines or cosines into a product of sines and
cosines.
