BBA/BAF – Internship Guideline
Internship Report Deadline: 25 September 2024 in the undergraduate office.
The internship for the undergraduate student of Department of Management Sciences (DMS) is a
three credit hours course. The student needs to undertake a 6-week internship (42 days) after the
completion of either the sixth semester or the seventh semester. Before starting the internship, the
following should be kept in mind.
- It is preferred that the internship if done in the area in which the student is specializing.
However, the student can also do internship in areas other than the specialization.
- The internship must start after the last day of DMS final paper.
- The internship should end before the commencement of classes for the Fall semester.
- The internship is to be of minimum 42 days including Saturdays and Sundays (6
weeks).
- The internship has to be registered immediately in the upcoming Fall semester i.e. if
the internship was done in summer 2024 it has to be registered in the Fall 2024
semester. The credit hours of internship course shall not be counted towards the
maximum permissible limit of credit hours per semester.
- The internship can be done in any public or private sector organization.
- The internship cannot be done in an organization which is owned by students’ parents or
siblings or friends.
- In case, of doing a job, which the student wants to be considered as internship, the student
has to submit an experience letter which should clearly mention the timings of the job. The
job timings should not overlap with students scheduled class timings.
Internship Letter
The criteria on which the internship letter is verified are as follows:
Criteria for Internship Letter Evaluation
1. Letter reference number should be mentioned, example Doc# CIIT-
ISB/A0/IL/01.This can be ignored if the organization does not have a
reference number policy.
2. Date of issuance should be mentioned in the letter. Issuance date should be the
date on which the internship period is ending or after the internship period e.g.
if the internship ended on 30th August the letter should be issued on either 30th
August or any other date after that provided that the letter issuance date should
not be Sunday or public holiday
3. The letter will have to be on a letter head.
4.
Internship starting and ending dates should not be on Sunday or public holiday
5. Internship period should be between summer break e.g. if the semester papers
are ending on 13th of July and new semester is starting from 7th September then
the internship period should be between 14th of July and 6th of September
6. Manager/Letter issuing authority name, designation and signatures should be
mentioned
7. The minimum total duration of internship should be 42 days. Preferably
student should go for 7 weeks internship or more to meet the minimum
requirement
8. Name of the student on the internship letter should be same as the name in
your university rolls.

Internship Letter Checklist
Instructions:
All students undertaking internship after 6th or 7th semester of BS (BA) or BAF to provide the following
checklist with their internship letter. Please note that all boxes need to be checked before submitting the
checklist with the original letter to the department.

Internship Report
The purpose of doing an internship is to gain valuable work experience which can give students
an edge in the job market. In addition, this provides an ideal opportunity to work in various
departments of an organization as well as do multiple tasks, get mentoring from experienced
managers, develop, and refine business skills and clearly define career goals.
It is compulsory for the student to not only do internship but do it conscientiously and diligently.
This is because each student will be asked to submit an internship report immediately in the
semester after the internship.
The internship report format is as follows: Please note that the internship report will be checked
for plagiarism. Each student will be asked to attach a Turnitin plagiarism report with the internship
report. Plagiarism level should not be more than 17% in the internship report. Moreover, AI content
will also be checked through Turnitin.

After the submission of the report the student will be asked to appear for a viva. The internship
viva will be based on the following.
a. Students will be asked the learning experience during the internship.
b. How students can link their course (specialization) contents to the work experience.
c. Discussions on recommendations mentioned for further improvement.
Internship Marks Weightage:
The reports will only be accepted when;
- The internship letter meets the criteria mentioned above.
- Plagiarism Report of Turnitin, the report will be returned if plagiarism of more than 17%
is found.
